One of our most popular tours now got even better, with the addition of a stay in the wilderness resort of Sonora located in the heart of British Columbia. You will begin this tour in style with tour of Banff and a helicopter tour over the Rockies. The journey through the beautiful Yoho National Park to iconic Lake Louise. Explore the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Glacier, before enjoying Jasper and then boarding the Rocky Mountaineer train for a unique two-day experience. After reaching Vancouver you will then travel north through Vancouver Island to the beautiful Sonora Resort, where you will be able to immerse yourself in the wilderness, hiking, biking, fishing and in September & October – grizzly bear spotting

Day 1

Fly to Calgary

Arrive in Calgary and spend the remainder of the day sightseeing on your own in the ‘Stampede City’.

Day 2

Calgary to Banff with Summit Helicopter Tour

Depart from Calgary this morning and take part in a full-day tour which will conclude in Banff. Journey to Kananaskis where the highlight of the day will be a 15-minute summit helicopter tour over the Rockies. You’ll have some time to explore Kananaskis at leisure before heading to Banff for a sightseeing tour of Bow Falls, Surprise Corner, the Hoodoos and Lake Minnewanka. Your tour ends on arrival in Banff late this afternoon.

Day 3

Banff to Lake Louise

Take part in a half-day tour into Yoho National Park to view the natural delights found here, among which are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and the natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. The tour ends at Lake Louise, where you’ll have the rest of the afternoon to explore at leisure and make the most of the spectacular surroundings.

Day 4

Lake Louise to Jasper

Take a sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper National Parks via the Icefields Parkway, where you’ll enjoy landmark attractions such as Bow Lake, the Athabasca Falls and the Columbia Icefield. At the Columbia Icefield, the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic Circle, you’ll ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier where you’ll learn more about the geological features. There’ll be time for lunch (included) before arrival into Jasper in the late afternoon.

Day 5

Jasper Highlights Tour

Jasper National Park is a World Heritage Site, as well as boasting the title of largest national park in Canada. Take a short scenic tour today to explore the natural beauty of this area. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Jasper a little further at your own pace.

Day 6

Jasper to Kamloops

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops today, passing a wealth of breath-taking scenery changes of the Continental Divide. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls and the climb over Yellowhead Pass.

Overnight in Kamloops (Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 7

Kamloops to Vancouver

Today’s journey takes you west towards the Pacific Ocean and Vancouver, passing the Thompson River, Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon, and the Coast and Cascade Mountains. Your rail journey ends upon arrival into Vancouver this evening.

Vancouver to Sonora

Enjoy a morning at leisure to explore the diverse neighbourhoods of Vancouver then in the afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Sonora Resort in the Discovery Islands. Sonora Resort is a luxurious wilderness retreat with lots of activities for you to enjoy, plus all your meals and drinks are included.

You have a full day to enjoy all that the Sonora Resort has to offer - swimming pool, hiking & biking trails, tennis court, putting green, 12-seat cinema and fly-fishing ponds.
