Classically Canadian, the Little Log Cabin is nestled amongst wooden surroundings, complete with a beautiful creek – a beautiful spot for a private, serene wedding. It’s crafted from the original flooring and doors from the 60 year-old cottage which originally stood here.

Niagara’s only little log cabin, this is a very intimate, secluded and romantic wedding location located on Black Creek which flows into the Niagara River. Featuring an eclectic mix of old and new, this quaint chapel offers lots of character, and the grounds surrounding it are incredibly private and peaceful. Ceremonies can be held indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather, and this little gem is wonderful for couples in search of a small, romantic ceremony.

Our Classic Wedding features a wedding coordinator, limousine transportation to and from the cabin, a bridal bouquet, grooms buttonhole, and five digital photographs. If you upgrade to our Premier Wedding package, you’ll be further treated to fifteen digital photographs, a video of your ceremony and Canadian sparkling wine to celebrate.

More Information

The Little Log Cabin is a very private wedding location on Black Creek which flows into the Niagara River constructed with the original flooring and doors from a 60 year old cottage which stood on the site. An eclectic mix of old and new (heating and air-conditioning) gives the little log chapel so much character, and the grounds surrounding it are private and serene. Ceremonies can be held indoors or outdoors depending on the weather.  This closely guarded secret is truly ideal for couples who want a secluded and intimate ceremony in classically Canadian surroundings.

Wedding Guests

Have up to eight of your family and friends join you.

Legally you could get married the same day as you arrive! However, we recommend you have a couple of days to get used to any time change and orient yourselves. You can apply for your wedding licence online before arriving into Niagara (cost of the licence approx $125 is not included and is paid for when collecting your licence from Niagara Falls City Hall.  The marriage licence is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

  • Minimum stay before wedding: 3 days
  • Minimum age: 18
  • Minimum stay in Canada: 7 nights
  • Weddings take place: Monday – Friday only

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • Valid original 10-year UK passport
  • The original of your birth certificate
  • Marriage licence (applied in Canada) - $125 licence fee required (in cash) when collecting wedding licence in Niagara (approx. £80).

If applicable

  •         If you have been divorced, decree absolute.
  •         If you have been widowed, the original copy of your partner's death certificate.
  •         If you have changed your name, the original copy of the deed poll
  •         If you were adopted, the original copy of your adoption certificate.

If you have been divorced, then the previous marriage dissolvent must be recognised in Ontario. Generally, the Wedding Planner will take the decree absolute across to Canada, swear an affidavit with a lawyer who then sends a copy of the decree with a letter that states in their opinion the divorce is legal and should be recognised. Then, the Ontario department concerned sends back a form stating the divorce is recognised. This can take up to 90 days. There is a charge for this of CAD$300 - 350 for a single and CAD$600 - $650 for double).  Please do advise us if you have been previously married.

BEFORE TRAVEL

After confirmation of booking your wedding date and time in Niagara On The Lake, our local wedding coordinators, Maple Leaf Weddings, will be on contact with you by e-mail or telephone to arrange a date and time to meet up with you in Niagara On The Lake to welcome you, accompany you to the Niagara Falls City Clerks Office in order to collect your marriage licence, visit the options for your outdoor ceremony and discuss any final wedding arrangements.

We need copies of documents 12 weeks before the date of travel

ON ARRIVAL

You must have photo-ID with you when you visit the City Clerk’s Office in Niagara Falls (unless you are collecting it at an alternative Canadian office).  $125 licence fee required (in cash) when collecting wedding licence in Niagara (approx. £80).
