Weddings at Lake Minnewanka

Weddings from £1,419

Overview

A wonderful spot for a sublime summer wedding in Banff, Lake Minnewanka is a stunning, romantic venue surrounded by snow-capped mountains and glittering cobalt waters.

Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, you’ll witness these majestic mountains from a new perspective aside this serene, expansive lake setting. Lake Minnewanka is a hot spot, particularly in the summer months when the luscious foliage is in full bloom, and an endless carpet of clear blue water glows in the sun. This incredible, serene glacial lake is abundant in wildlife; and as you exchange rings, you may catch a glimpse of a lone deer sipping at the shoreline, a majestic American eagle soaring above the lake, or hear the distant tapping of a woodpecker deep in the forested pine.

To complete this utterly spectacular day, we have created three wonderful wedding packages to ensure that everything lives up to your dreams. Our Classic Wedding features all licensing and a marriage officiate, as well as a bridal bouquet, groom’s buttonhole, wedding coordinator, sparkling wine and transfers to the lake. Our Premier option further offers a professional photographer to capture the magical atmosphere and setting, as well as a beautiful hand-made wedding cake. If you celebrate with our Luxury Wedding, you’ll also delight in a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime tour around the landscapes, professional bridal hair & makeup services, and champagne for the couple to enjoy back at the hotel.

ON ARRIVAL

Couples must obtain wedding licence in Banff – even if staying in Lake Louise.  Licence cost IS included & accompanied.  Cost of transfer from Lake Louise to Banff is NOT included.  Licence office is open Monday – Friday.

We suggest having two pair of shoes one outdoor pair (these can be white fur boots or any type of show that are easy to walk on snow) and an indoor pair which can be worn for photographs, ceremony, reception etc.  We suggest bringing a fur cape or wrap if you are planning to do an outdoor ceremony or photographs outdoors. Alternatively you can wear a winter coat and remove it for the ceremony or photographs. We also suggest bringing some gloves.  During all seasons mountain weather is known for it's unpredictability we always suggest checking the weather forecast prior to arrival to check the current weather trends so your guests can dress accordingly.

Additional Information

Legally you could get married the same day as you arrive! However, we recommend you have a couple of days to get used to any time change and orient yourselves. We will send you the necessary forms before you arrive in town and submit them to the Bureau for you. We will set up an appointment to take you to get your license when you arrive.
