Day 1

Fly to Vancouver

Arrive in Vancouver and spend the rest of the day exploring this scenic city on your own.

Day 2

Vancouver to Whistler

Travel on the Rocky Mountaineer to the town of Whistler, renowned for the year-round scenery, great outdoor activities and outstanding skiing. The journey takes you through the breath-taking landscape of the ‘Sea to Sky’ corridor, with highlights including Howe Sound, the Coast Mountains, Brandywine Falls, Mount Garibaldi and the impressive Cheakamus Canyon. Upon arrival into Whistler, you’ll be transferred to your hotel – the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3

Whistler to Quesnel

Today sees you travel to the charming rural town of Quesnel, set along a beautiful route of canyons, farmland and valleys. The highlights of this route include Anderson Lake and the glacier-fed Seton Lake, the sensational views of Fraser Canyon and Deep Creek Bridge. The day concludes as you follow the banks of the Fraser River into Quesnel.

Day 4

Quesnel to Jasper

Head east today through the Canadian Rockies to Jasper National Park. From Quesnel, you’ll follow the Fraser River to the town of Prince George, then head eastwards to northern British Columbia, where many native wildlife species can be found including moose. On entering the Rocky Mountain Trench, you’ll be surrounded by the Rocky Mountains to the north and the Cariboo Mountains to the south. Your rail journey ends today on arrival in Jasper.

Day 5

Jasper

Today will be spent in Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Canada’s largest national park. Today you’ll enjoy a scenic tour of the area, perhaps even catching a glimpse of the many native creatures which thrive here. The rest of the day will be yours to spend as you wish, getting to know Jasper a little better and enjoying the attractions.

Day 6

Jasper to Lake Louise

Travel to Lake Louise via the Icefields Parkway today, one of the most scenic highways in the world. You’ll stop at the Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield where you’ll ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier. Your driver or guide will explain how the glaciers are created and point out the geological features of this area, before you enjoy lunch (included) and head to Bow Lake and Lake Louise.

Day 7

Lake Louise to Banff

Explore Lake Louise on your own this morning, admiring the beauty at your own pace. After lunch, embark on a half-day tour which takes you into the Yoho National Park to view the natural wonders of this area. At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred to Banff.

Please note: While departure from The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will be approximately 2pm, scheduled checkout time is normally 12pm. Your luggage will be stored upon checkout and you are free to enjoy the amenities of the hotel before the tour departs.

Day 8

Banff to Calgary

Take a full-day tour today concluding in Calgary, beginning with a sightseeing tour of Banff, with your trip on the Banff Gondola included. Continue onwards to Kananaskis for a 12-minute summit helicopter tour over the landscape of the Rockies.

Day 9

Calgary

Your trip ends upon checkout from your Calgary hotel.
