Situated in the Coastal Mountains of British Columbia Canada, Whistler is approximately 115 kn (72 miles) from Vancouver, just a little farther from Victoria and Vancouver Island. During the summer months Whistler is teaming with life and numerous opportunities for outdoor exploration and sport including a mountain bike park, peak 2 peak sightseeing gondola which takes you on a spectacular alpine trip between the peaks of Whistler and Blackcomb, horseback riding, ecology tours, an adventure park for kids set up at the base of the mountains and numerous hiking, biking and walking trails and fantastic fishing in the nearby lakes.
Summers in Whistler are fantastic but the winter months are when Whistler truly comes alive. Whistler’s ski and snowboard trails are known worldwide and it is consistently ranked the top ski and snowboard resort in North America. During the winter months the slopes are packed during the daytime and nightclubs are bustling at night. Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain collective boast over 8000 acres of skiable terrain, rising a mile above the valley of Whistler. A ski school runs every winter so if you don’t know how to ski already, you can learn! The ski season here is long running all the way into July (when summer skiing takes place in the mountain glaciers). Whistler also offers an incredible nightlife including many slopeside bars; restaurants and clubs open year round.
