Canada's Rockies and Calgary Stampede
Experience the world's biggest rodeo at the action-packed Calgary Stampede before heading for the Rocky Mountains on this memorable tour of the Canadian west. There'll be trips to the classic mountain resorts of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper with plenty of incredible scenery on the way.
Tour Itinerary
- Day 1 - Calgary
- Arrive in Calgary and transfer to your city hotel for a two-night stay. Meet your Tour Director and find out more about your forthcoming trip before meeting your fellow travellers at an evening Welcome Reception.
- Hotel: Calgary Marriott
- Day 2 - Calgary Stampede
- Today you'll be treated to a day at the world's biggest rodeo meet, the Calgary Stampede. Your all-day ticket includes reserved rodeo seats and fairground admission. There's also a wealth of stalls and exhibits, live music and, in the evening, the action-packed chuckwagon races. Round the day off with the firework and musical Evening Show.

- Day 3 - Calgary - Lake Louise
- Head out from Calgary to enter Banff National Park where you will see three stunning lakes today. Start with a narrated walk along the Lake Louise shore before seeing Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. After that you'll drive across the Continental Divide to reach Yoho National Park and stop at the Spiral Tunnels and Natural Bridge on the way to the beautiful Emerald Lake, before returning to the village of Lake Louise to spend the night.

- Day 4 - Lake Louise - Columbia Icefield - Jasper
- Today the tour travelled down the incredibly scenic Icefields Parkway for unforgettable mountain scenery, passing lakes, glaciers and forests, keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife like black and grizzly bears, elk and moose. Arriving at the Columbia Icefield you will take an exciting Ice Explorer onto Athabasca Glacier. Later you'll arrive in the pretty mountain town of Jasper for a two night stay. There will be an interesting talk after dinner on the region's diverse wildlife which will add to your appreciation of the Rockies.

- Day 5 - Jasper National Park
- Strike out from Jasper to Maligne Canyon, and take a narrated stroll along one of the most scenic spots in the Rockies, with its tumbling waterfalls and dramatic rock formations. You'll also find out about the huge underground river system there. Back in Jasper the rest of the day will be yours to do your own thing - there is no shortage of activities to try in the national park area and your Tour Director can help you make the most of the Jasper area.

- Day 6 - Jasper - Icefields Parkway - Banff
- Leave Jasper and head for Banff, stopping at the Lodge of the Ten Peaks on the way with a ride on the Lake Louise Gondola. Join a guided walk at the top or enjoy the award-winning nature presentations at the visitor centre. Later, in Banff, there will be a tour of the area, visiting spots like Tunnel Mountain Drive, Surprise Corner and seeing the characteristic eroded rock 'hoodoos' the area is known for. You'll spend two nights in this classic mountain resort.

- Day 7 - Banff
- Explore Banff independently. Options include a trip on the Banff Gondola, helicopter flights above the Rockies and cruises down the Bow River. Join your fellow travellers in the evening for a Farewell Dinner to toast a great Canadian tour.

- Day 8 - Banff - Calgary
- Leave the Rockies behind as you return to Calgary to transfer to the airport or city centre hotel for those choosing to extend their stay in Canada.
