Overview

A rail and cruise adventure through some of the most picturesque locations in Canada and Alaska, this amazing journey offers up the chance to experience the natural beauty of this landscape. You’ll spend two days on the renowned Rocky Mountaineer, a 7-night Alaskan Cruise on the Norwegian Sun, 3 nights in Vancouver, and a night each in Banff and Kamloops.

This is a tailor made itinerary, hotels and duration's can be changed should you wish.  We suggest extending by 2 nights at the end of the tour in Banff, please call for prices.

Details

Day 1 & 2

Vancouver

Fly into Vancouver and make your own way to your hotel. Spend the next two nights here, giving you chance to explore the city and see the sights. You can either make your own way around or you can pre-book some excursions.

Day 3

Embark the NCL Sun

Check out of your hotel this morning and transfer independently to the port for your 7-night Alaskan cruise aboard the Norwegian Sun*.

Day 4

Inside Passage

Prepare to be amazed by the natural beauty of the Inside Passage today, as you cruise through 1000 miles of epic glaciated scenery, punctuated by waterfalls, islands and pristine forests.

Day 5

Juneau

Take an Alaskan adventure to the capital today – Juneau. Head to the nearby Mendenhall Glacier, admire the breath-taking vistas from Mount Roberts, go on a whale-watching excursion to see these magnificent creatures up close or take a helicopter tour over the Juneau Icefield.

Day 6

Skagway

The city of Skagway is the ideal mix of history and nature, with a rich heritage dating back to the 19th century gold rush. Take the White Pass and Yukon railroad which offers amazing mountain scenery and it’s the route that miners used to take to reach the gold.

Day 7

Cruise Glacier Bay

Glacier Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to 16 different glaciers and some truly awe-inspiring scenery. This globally-significant wildlife sanctuary is one of the highlights of the trip in terms of the beauty of the landscape.

Day 8

Ketchikan

Head to Ketchikan today, located on Revillagigedo Island and referred to as the ‘Salmon Capital of the World’. The charming harbour, mountain backdrop and deep fjords make this a beautiful place to explore.

Day 9

Inside Passage

Cruise along the coastline of British Columbia today, keeping a watch for the abundant animal and marine life.

Day 10

Vancouver

Disembark the ship this morning and make your own way to your hotel in Vancouver. The remainder of the day is free to check out the sights in the city.

Day 11

Vancouver to Kamloops

Transfer independently to the Rocky Mountaineer train station and head to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia. Keep a look out en-route for the beauty of Fraser River Valley, the Coast and Cascade Mountains, and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake and into Kamloops.

Day 12

Kamloops to Banff

Head east today to the Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. The highlights of today include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon and the awe-inspiring beauty of the Rockies. Upon arrival into Banff, transfer independently to your hotel.

Day 13

Banff to Calgary Airport

This morning, check out of your hotel and take the included scheduled coach transfer to Calgary Airport for your flight home.
