Overview

Explore the two neighbouring provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, and enjoy the lively sights of Calgary, Banff and Jasper National Parks, the interior of British Columbia as well as the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. The Rocky Mountaineer train will bring you through a dramatically-changing countryside while travelling through valleys, canyons and mountain passes. See lush forests, marvel at pristine lakes, and take in the sight of the magnificent Canadian Rocky Mountains. In both Vancouver and the Rockies, local sightseeing tours are included to enhance the experience. Departing from Vancouver, you travel by ship northward along the Canadian Pacific coastline into the fjords and inlets of Alaska. The forested shores and towering glaciers will delight and astound you on this eight-day cruise before returning to the port of Vancouver.

Day 1

FLY TO CALGARY
Arrive at Calgary’s International airport and transfer independently to your centrally located hotel. Pick up your information kit at the front desk as you check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to create your own urban adventure in the Stampede City and form your first impressions of Western Canada. Overnight in Calgary.

Day 2

CALGARY TO BANFF
On this full-day sightseeing transfer you will drive through the ranching country west of Calgary. Here, view such famous Banff landmarks as Tunnel Mountain Drive, Stoney Nakoda Resort, Bow Falls and the Hoodoos. Time will be given at Sulphur Mountain to take the gondola to the summit for a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains (ride not included). Overnight in Banff.

Day 3

BANFF
Relax and enjoy the scenery as the tour makes its way to the Columbia Icefield, continuing along the famous Icefields Parkway. You will be traversing one of the most dramatic and spectacular landscapes in the world. The huge Columbia Glacier covers nearly 325 km2 and dominates the surrounding landscape. An Ice Explorer ride will take you onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier. The excursion will also stop at Peyto Lake and Bow Lake and at the Crowfoot Glacier.

Day 4

ROCKY MOUNTAINEER BANFF TO KAMLOOPS
On board the Rocky Mountaineer train, you will experience a spectacular rail excursion from Banff to Kamloops. This unique daylight service allows you to view some of the most spectacular sights in Western Canada. The route departs the Rocky Mountains through the Kicking Horse Pass. By late afternoon, you are in the arid ranch land of interior British Columbia, where you disembark for the night. Upon arrival in Kamloops, the evening is at your leisure. Overnight in Kamloops.

Day 5

ROCKY MOUNTAINEER KAMLOOPS TO VANCOUVER
You will set out on the last leg of your spectacular rail experience today. The Rocky Mountaineer takes you through the “cowboy country” ranchlands and along the rushing torrents of the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. You are now truly in pioneer territory and en route you can
listen to the history and legends of the West while enjoying all the comforts of your luxury train. The last stretch takes you through lush farmlands and past historic towns to Vancouver. Overnight in Vancouver. Breakfast and lunch included.

Vancouver
Discover Vancouver on a hop on / hop off trolley tour, taking in the sights of historic Gastown, English Bay, Granville Island, the colourful totem poles of scenic Stanley Park and much more. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 7

VANCOUVER
This full-day trip to Victoria begins with a cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands and includes a visit to the acclaimed Butchart Gardens. Afterwards continue to Victoria for a city sightseeing tour that encompasses Victoria’s stately homes and gardens as well as historic landmarks. You will see the University of Victoria and Beacon Hill Park and pass the Royal British Columbia Museum, Thunderbird Park, the Parliament Buildings and the exclusive homes of the Uplands and Oak Bay. You will return to Vancouver in the early evening. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 8

VANCOUVER / ALASKAN CRUISE
Today you check out of your hotel and independently transfer to the Vancouver cruise terminal where you board the Celebrity Century and are welcomed by the crew who will be your hosts for the next 7 nights. Familiarize yourself with amenities of the ship and watch the sun set over the water from the wide decks of this magnificent craft. Overnight on board the Celebrity Century. Dinner included.

Day 9

INSIDE PASSAGE
The ship weighs anchor and sets sail this morning for one of the most famously beautiful passages in all the world. Just beyond the deck rails, the gems of Alaska are laid open in a spellbinding vista, including rain forests, glaciers, fjords and white-capped peaks. Along the way it is common to view whales and sea lions at play along the coastlines as well as a near countless assortment of marine bird life.

Day 10

ICY POINT STRAIT
Eighty kilometres west of Juneau and at the mouth of Glacier Bay, lies the historic Icy Strait Point. Travelers have the unique opportunity to experience Tlingit culture, superior wildlife viewing opportunities and years of Alaskan history on optional excursions offered by Celebrity Cruises. Watch the sun set against the dramatic landscape as the ship anchors off the point for the night. Overnight on board the Celebrity Century. Full board included.

Day 11

HUBBARD GLACIER
Hubbard Glacier is the one glacier in the world that does not move at a glacial pace. In 1986, Hubbard Glacier - the largest tidewater glacier on the North American continent - moved an average of just under 2 metres per hour. Keep a watchful eye as the ship sails through the Yakutat Bay as the geological history unfolds before you. Overnight on board the Celebrity Century. Full board included.

Day 12

PORT OF JUNEAU
Where the legacy of the tin pan prospector meets eco-adventure tourism of tomorrow would be a good way to describe the charms of Alaska’s capital city. Here the pioneering spirit lives on in an interesting mix of cosmopolitan chic and frontier ruggedness. There are many places to visit in port including Alaska State Museum and its exquisite collection of Russian Orthodox and Gold Rush relics, or take advantage of optional excursions offered by Celebrity Cruises.

Day 13

PORT OF KETCHIKAN
Today you cruise down the coast to arrive in the town of Ketchikan - the ancestral home of the Tlingit tribe. This community with strong ties to its aboriginal past is also the departure point for Celebrity Cruise’s optional seaplane excursions into the Misty Fjords National Monument and its 8 900 km2 of pristine wilderness. Ketchikan also boasts the world’s largest collection of totem poles you can explore independently , or you may visit the Saxman Native Village, Totem
Bight and Totem Heritage Center.

Day 14

INSIDE PASSAGE
Today the ship slowly retraces its voyage along the Alaskan and British Columba coastlines. Watch how the landscape slowly and subtly changes as you descend into the more southern and warmer climate of the Pacific Northwest temperate area.

Day 15

VANCOUVER / END OF TOUR
Early this morning you arrive in the port of Vancouver and disembark the Celebrity Century. You transfer individually to Vancouver’s International Airport in time to check in for your return flight.

The Celebrity Century cruise ship featured in the Mountain Rails and Alaskan Cruise programme offers 3 cabin types: inside cabin, outside cabin and balcony cabin. The balcony and outside cabins have an either a window or sliding glass door. The inside cabin does not have a window.
