Resting on the shores of Tyaughton Lake, Tyax Resort is surrounded by the towering peaks of the South Chilcotin Mountains in beautiful British Columbia. About 124 miles north of Vancouver and 62 miles north of Whistler
The South Chilcotin Mountains are part of a protected area which encompasses over 71,000 Hectares of designated parkland. The gentle nature of the wilderness area creates ideal wildlife habitat, and significant populations of grizzly and black bears, black tailed deer, lynx, wolverine, beavers, wolves and California bighorn sheep are all found in this area

• Transfer independently to your 4 star hotel in downtown Vancouver where you will be staying for the next two nights

Experience recreational activities both exhilarating and relaxing. Finish off your day with a night out on the town, featuring some of the best dining and nightlife in Canada

• Day 3
• Vancouver – Whistler – Tyax Resort
• Start this memorable day with a shuttle service to Whistler along the scenic coastal Sea to Sky Highway. Take in the breathtaking scenery of the Coast Mountains and Howe Sound en route.
• Upon arrival in Whistler, board the floatplane operated by Tyax Air for a 30 minute breathtaking flight to Tyax in a 6 passenger De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver floatplane.
• Nestled in the backcountry of the scenic South Chilcotin Mountains, Tyax Resort rests on the shores of beautiful Tyaughton Lake, approximately 125 miles north of Vancouver.
• You will find a cozy atmosphere with accommodation in spacious double rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. With 29 guest rooms, a dining room with vaulted ceilings, conference room and a patio overlooking the lake, Tyax is one of the most impressive and largest log structures in Canada

• Day 4
• Tyax Resort is a premier destination for backcountry adventure. World class mountain biking, spectacular hiking, floatplane tours, ATV tours, horseback adventures and superb mountain lake fishing are just some of the backcountry activities available

• Day 5
• Included Wilderness Safari excursion
• Fly over the stunning landscape of Spruce Lake Park and Big Creek Park on your way to Chilko Lodge, situated at the north end of Tsyl’os Provincial Park. Look for moose, grizzly bear, bighorn sheep, and mountain goats which are all abundant in the park. Enjoy a delicious lunch, included in the price, at Chilko Resort mid-way through the tour

• Day 6
• Tyax Resort
• More free time to enjoy the numerous activities available; perhaps put on your cowboy hat and hop on the back of a horse for this traditional form of backcountry travel. Daily trail rides from one hour long to multi-day pack trips into the high country are available

• Day 7
• Tyax Resort - Whistler - Vancouver airport
• The six window seater De Havilland ‘Beaver’ floatplane is yet again your form of transportation today back to Whistler for your overnight stay. The floatplane offers unimpeded views for everyone. Photo opportunities are endless. Make sure the batteries are charged and the memory card is empty!
• Return transfer by shuttle service again directly from Whistler to Vancouver airport for your flight back to the UK

• Day 8
• Arrive back in the UK in the early afternoon at your chosen UK airport

• A selection of lakeside log chalets sit nestled on the shores of Tyaughton Lake. Ranging in size from 3 - 6 bedrooms, all chalets have a large river-stone fireplace and a private deck overlooking the lake and mountains
• Tyax Resort Flagship Chalet
• Spirit Bear is located in a private setting adjacent to the main lodge. It is the perfect location for a re-union, corporate retreat or family vacation. This nine (9) bedroom chalet can be configured to comfortably accommodate groups of up to 18 people. The chalet comes fully catered, including the services of a full-time private chef and concierge
