Tour Information

Start with a stay in Calgary before setting off for two days of rail travel on the Rocky Mountaineer, passing through magnificent scenery in Canada’s west and the Canadian Rockies. The RedLeaf coach service lets you enjoy the views with extended legroom. After disembarking in Vancouver and exploring the city, board Norwegian Sun to cruise up to Alaska for its spectacular wildlife and landscape.

Day 1

Tuesday
Fly to Calgary and transfer independently to your four star hotel in downtown Calgary.

Day 2

Wednesday
Time at leisure to explore Calgary, the host of the 1988 Winter Olympcs. You can visit Canada Olympic Park or take in the Glenbow Museum, Eau Claire Market and Calgary Tower.

Day 3-4

Thursday/Friday
Join the Rocky Mountaineer for two days travelling through the Canadian west and the Rockies, with all travel during daylight hours. The GoldLeaf dome coach boasts panoramic views and you can enjoy fine dining in the GoldLeaf dining room.

Day 5

Saturday
Time to enjoy the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver at your leisure. Vancouver has a stunning setting on a natural harbour, with a mountainous backdrop. As well as excellent shopping there are plenty of attractions to explore.

Day 6

Sunday
Transfer to pier for 5.30am embarkation on the Norwegian Sun.

Day 7

Monday
Cruise the Inside Passage to Alaska, travelling though epic scenery, with glaciated mountains, countless islands, roaring waterfalls and virgin forests.

Day 8

Tuesday
Stop at Ketchikan, Alaska, on Revillagigedo Island. Ketchikan is known as the ‘Salmon Capital of the World’ and has a picturesque harbour sheltering seaplanes and fishing boats.

Day 9

Wednesday
On to Juneau, the capital of Alaska, with its Gold Rush heritage, only accessible by seaplane or boat.

Day 10

Thursday
Stop in the morning at Skagway, which was Alaska’s gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon. Depart at 10pm.

Day 11

Friday
The Norwegian Sun will cruise to the Sawyer Glacier, where mountains meet, creating a spectacular scene of glaciers and huge icebergs.

Day 12

Saturday. Cruise the Inside Passage
Cruise back south along the Inside Passage, taking in the beautiful coastline of British Colombia, with its abundant animal and marine life.

Day 13

Sunday
Arrive back in Vancouver in the early morning and transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Day 14

Monday
Arrive back after your overnight flight.

Cabins
All staterooms have television, refrigerator, safe and bathroom with shower and hair dryer. All lower beds convert to a queen bed. Suites and penthouses feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a private balcony.
