Fly with Air Transat and start with a stay in Calgary before setting off for two days of rail travel on the Rocky Mountaineer, passing through magnificent scenery in Canada’s west and the Canadian Rockies. The RedLeaf coach service lets you enjoy the views with extended legroom. After disembarking in Vancouver and exploring the city, board Norwegian Sun to cruise up to Alaska for its spectacular wildlife and landscape.
Wednesday. Fly UK to Calgary
Transfer independently to your 4 star hotel in downtown Calgary where you will be staying for the night.
Make the most of your time to visit some of the great attractions this city has to offer. The host city of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games takes pride in its sporting legacy. .
Thursday/Friday
Relax and join the Rocky Mountaineer for two days of all-daylight rail travel through Canada’s West and the Canadian Rockies. Enjoy panoramic views from the GoldLeaf dome coach and spectacular meals in the GoldLeaf dining room.
Saturday. In Vancouver at leisure. Perhaps the most stunning city setting in the world, cosmopolitan Vancouver sits beside a natural harbour, with majestic mountains at its back and the ocean at its feet. There are great shopping venues here and, as you have a full day at leisure, there is ample opportunity for exploration too.
Sunday. Transfer to pier for 5.30 embarkation.
Monday. Cruise the Inside Passage
The beauty of the Inside Passage will amaze you as you cruise through 1,000 miles of epic scenery, towering glaciated mountains, roaring waterfalls, endless islands and virgin rain forests.
Tuesday. Ketchikan Alaska
Today’s port of call is Ketchikan, situated on Revillagigedo Island and known as the Salmon Capital of the World’. Here, a picturesque harbour shelters fishing boats and seaplanes.
Wednesday. Juneau Alaska
Arrive in the afternoon in Juneau, Alaska’s lovely capital. The city has a Gold Rush story to rival that of Klondike, and is only accessible by seaplane or boat.
Thursday. Skagway Alaska 7am-10pm
In the morning your cruise ship docks in Skagway, Alaska’s gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada’s Yukon.
Friday. Cruise Sawyer Glacier
Your ship cruises into the awesome Sawyer Glacier, where huge mountains converge to create an incredible panoramic wonder, a spectacular scene of glaciers and massive icebergs.
Saturday. Cruise the Inside Passage
Continue cruising south along British Columbia’s spectacular coastline. Animal and marine life is abundant in this area.
Sunday Vancouver early morning
Disembark & transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK.
Monday Arrive back in the UK after your overnight flight.
